SEACPP Tech Tour to Simpson Strong-Tie

Hello students,
SEACPP, Structural Engineering Association of Cal Poly Pomona, will be having our first Tech Tour of the quarter. We will be visiting Simpson Strong-Tie in Riverside on February 12th from 10:00 Am to 2:00 Pm.
Simpson Strong Tie is an industry leader when it comes to manufacturing structural connecting systems for wood, steel, masonry, concrete, and composite wood building construction. We will be meeting on campus before the event, and we will be offering carpool for those whom need a way of getting there.
 ““College Day!” Friday, February 12th 10:00am – 2:00 pm.
At Simpson-Strong-Tie office in Riverside.
Cal State Long Beach and Cal State Fullerton engineering students will also be part of the group tour as part of “College Days.”
Highlights : Strong Frame (special moment frame) test;  competition to conclude the tour, and more. Please wear hard toe shoes!”

SEACPP Last Meeting of Fall Quarter

Hello Civil and Construction majors,

SEACPP Last Meeting of Spring Quarter of 2015

Hello Civil and Construction students!

SEACPP will be having its last meeting of the year tomorrow June 2nd during U-hour (12-12:50 pm) in room 17-1671.

We will be introducing the 2015-2016 SEACPP E-board and we will be welcoming Jose Hernandez from Thornton Tomasetti, Inc. as a guest speaker.

 In cased you weren’t there, Jose was an alumni panelist for ASCE earlier this year. Jose is a 2011 Cal Poly Pomona Alumnus with a B.S. in Civil Engineering as well as the former SEACPP president (2010-2011). Jose obtained his M.S. in Structural Engineering from Lehigh University in 2015 an was  hired by Thornton Tomasetti, Inc. upon graduation.

 Jose will be talking about Thornton Tomasetti, Inc.’s LA office, and he will be talking about he New Stockton Courthouse project of which he is working on.

 Come meet the new E-board, enjoy some lunch, and welcome back our CPP alumnus Jose Hernandez!

SEACPP 3rd General Meeting of Spring Quarter

Attention civil and construction students,

 SEACPP will be having its 3rd general meeting of the quarter tomorrow, May 5, 2015 in Room 16-1671 (GIS Lab) during U-hour (12-1pm)!

We will be having our officer elections so please attend so you cast a vote for the 2015-2016 SEACPP E-board!

We will also be hosting the upcoming 2015-2016 SEAOSC president Michelle Kam-Biron from AWC as a guest speaker. Michelle will be talking about “The Wood Revolution: Inspiring Architecture with Innovative Structural Systems.”

Also, if you have not picked up your SEACPP membership T-shirt yet, tomorrow is the last day to do so.
